A little care goes a long way. Cleaning and storing your toys properly keeps them hygienic, helps them last longer and means they’re always ready when you are.
Clean before and after every use
Wash your toy with warm water and a mild, unscented soap, or use a dedicated toy cleaner. Pay attention to seams, buttons and textured areas. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean, lint-free towel.
Check if it’s waterproof
Waterproof toys can be rinsed under the tap. Splash-proof or non-waterproof toys should only be wiped down – never submerged. If your toy uses batteries, remove them before cleaning.
Dry completely
Let toys air-dry fully before putting them away. Moisture trapped in storage is the enemy of hygiene.
Store them separately
Keep each toy in its own pouch or the original box. Some materials can react with each other when stored touching, so separation keeps surfaces smooth and safe. Store away from direct sunlight and heat.
Charge smart
Charge rechargeable toys with the cable they came with, and top them up every few months even if you haven’t used them, to keep the battery healthy.
Know when to replace
If a toy develops cracks, tears, a sticky surface or a smell that won’t wash out, it’s time for a new one.
